Non-Technical Survey

Non-Technical Survey (NTS) is the first stage of humanitarian demining that provides data for planning further land clearance or for removing sites from the list of potentially hazardous areas (PoNR) or suspected hazardous territories (PNT).

Activities within NTS

Risk analytics before field deployment

  • Assessment of the likelihood of explosive ordnance presence on designated sites.

  • Removal of areas from the register of contaminated or likely contaminated zones if the absence of mines and explosive remnants of war is confirmed.

  • Analysis of socio-economic factors to determine the priority of further work.

Based on the data obtained, we conduct

Preparation for TS/clearance or lifting of suspicions

  • Classification of areas by hazard level.

  • Defining and marking the boundaries of hazardous zones.

  • Collection of information on incidents and accidents related to explosive ordnance.

  • Development of strategies for effective area clearance.
