International Demining Service Joined the National Conference “Depth of Safety 2025”

At the initiative of the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the first National Conference on Underwater Humanitarian Demining was held on 25–26 November, with the International Demining Service taking an active part.

The conference brought together experts from government institutions, international organizations, operators, and technology manufacturers to jointly define the direction for developing underwater demining in Ukraine.

The first day focused on demonstrating modern technologies in real aquatic conditions: remotely operated underwater vehicles, 3D sonars, surface platforms, and aerial drones. These solutions are gradually shaping new standards for safe and efficient clearance of water areas.

The second day concentrated on standardization and coordination. Participants supported the creation of five interagency working groups that will work on personnel training, environmental safety, and the development of national approaches to underwater demining.

For our team, participation in this event was an important opportunity to assess technological innovations and explore how they can be integrated into future IDS projects.
